Tessera - meaning 'four' in Greek - is one of the UK's most beloved contemporary gospel quartets. Originally founded in 2003 for a one-off television appearance, the response from the viewers was such that it became clear that they were not just going to get off lightly.
They have continued to make a number of television appearances in the UK, mostly on the flagship Songs Of Praise programme on BBC Television. They were also guests for BBC TV's Lesley Garrett Christmas Show. They have collaborated with a number of artists , including the aforementioned Lesley Garrett, Jonathan Ansell, Lexie Stobie, and Jeharna South.
Its style goes across genres, thanks to the diversity of their voices and the wealth of experience as choral singers of award winning choirs such as the London Adventist Chorale and the Kingdom Choir.
The quartet released its album in 2012 "You'll Never Walk Alone", although it had released some tracks on the CD by broadcast ensemble AVE, with one of the songs being part of a Warner Music compilation album.
My Mum saw Tesserra singing 'Mary, Did You Know' on a Songs of Praise ABC show. Whenever I ask her what she wants for Christmas that's all she says

Is it possible to buy 'Mary did you know?' I know the song, but that was the most powerful version I have heard.
